Red Lobster is an American casual dining restaurant chain that is owned and operated by Darden Restaurants, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The company also has operations in Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Japan. As of May 29, 2011, there are 698 Red Lobster locations worldwide.
Red Lobster was founded in 1968 by entrepreneurs Bill Darden and Charley Woodsby. Originally billed as a "Harbor for Seafood Lovers", the first restaurant in Lakeland, Florida, was followed by several others throughout the southeast. In 1970, General Mills acquired Red Lobster as a five-unit company. With new backing, the chain expanded rapidly in the 1980s.
Sesame Ginger Grouper
Red Lobster Sesame Ginger Grouper
4 (8-10 oz) grouper fillets
1/2 cup canola oil
Prudhomme's Blackened Magic
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1/2 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup snow peas
1 cup sliced mushrooms
3 cups sesame ginger sauce
Mix bell peppers and mushrooms with broccoli and snow peas in a skilllet with some oil. Cook until the vegetables are tender. Set aside. Heat water in a medium saucepan. Cook linguine noodles according to package directions. Lightly brush both sides of the grouper with oil and lightly season with Chef Paul Prudhomme's Redfish Magic. Add 1 tablespoons of oil into a medium high heat skillet. Sear the seasoned fillets for 3-4 minutes.Turn fish over and sear an additional 4-5 minutes. Put the Sesame-Ginger Sauce in a bowl and microwave to heat.
Serving Tips: Place the pasta on the plate add the vegetables. Place the fillet of fish on top and then pour on the sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions.
